Ananya Panday

Ananya Panday (born 30 October 1998) is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi films. She started her acting career in 2019 with parts in the comedies Pati Patni Aur Woh and the adolescent drama Student of the Year 2. Ananya is the daughter of actor Chunky Panday. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut thanks to these performances. Several poorly regarded movies came after this, but Gehraiyaan (2022), a drama, garnered better reviews for her work.

Early life and family

Panday was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, on October 30, 1998, to actor Chunky Panday and costume designer Bhavana Pandey. Rysa, her younger sister, is her name. Indian heart surgeon Sharad Panday was her grandfather. Her aunt Deanne Pandey is a wellness consultant, and her uncle Chikki Panday owns a business.

Up till 2017, she attended Dhirubhai Ambani International School. She attended the 2017 Le Bal des débutantes event hosted by Vanity Fair in Paris.

Career

According to Nandini Ramnath, who wrote for Scroll.in, Panday demonstrated talent in a forgettable movie. The movie did poorly at the box office. The next year, Panday co-starred with Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar in Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019), a remake of the 1978 film of the same name. She portrayed a secretary who had an affair with a married man, a role originally played by Ranjeeta Kaur. The movie did poorly at the box office. The love drama Gehraiyaan from 2022, which was made available on Amazon Prime Video, featured her next with Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi. “The surprise in this ensemble is Ananya Panday,” observed Anna M. In the upcoming movies Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, a coming-of-age drama starring Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav, and Dream Girl 2, a spiritual sequel starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Panday will also be seen. She will also appear in the Call Me Bae series on Amazon Prime Video and the as of now untitled Vikramaditya Motwane movie.

Panday has repeatedly faced internet harassment and unfavorable press for being a victim of nepotism in the Hindi film business. It’s not as simple as people make it out to be, she remarked. People won’t invest money in you if you have access but lack the talent to back it up .Despite this, I still think nepotism occurs and is not limited to Bollywood; it occurs in many industries. She started an effort called So happy in 2019 to raise awareness about cyberbullying, stop negativity, and foster a happy society. The project won Initiative of the Year at the 2019 Economic Times Awards. Panday is a well-known brand ambassador for a number of companies, including Gillette Venus and Lakme. She came in at number 37 in 2019 and number 31 in 2020.
