AP Dhillon
Amritpal Singh Dhillon (born 10 January 1993), known professionally as AP Dhillon, is an Indo-Canadian, Punjabi music is represented by a singer, rapper, and record producer. Five of his tracks have reached the top of the Official Charts Company UK Asian and Punjabi charts, with “Majhail” and “Brown Munde” topping both. Dhillon, along with labelmates Gurinder Gill, Shinda Kahlon and Gminxr, works as a trio under their label ‘Run-Up Records’.
Early life
Amritpal Singh Dhillon was born on 10 January 1993 in Gurdaspur, Punjab, India. He subsequently settled in Canada. His horoscope sign is Capricorn. AP Dhillon received his education from Little Flower Convent Senior Secondary School in Gurdaspur, Punjab. From 2011 to 2013, he studied civil engineering at Punjab Technical University in Amritsar, Punjab, now known as I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University. He studied for a post-graduate degree in business administration and management at Camosun College in British Columbia, Canada, from 2015 to 2017. He has since been based in Victoria while working for Run-Up Records.

Career
Dhillon launched his career with the singles “Fake” and “Faraar” in 2019. In 2020, his track “Deadly,” produced by Gminxr, debuted at number 11 on the Official Charts Company‘s UK Asian chart. In addition, the song reached the top 5 on the UK Punjabi chart. His following single “Droptop” with Gurinder Gill charted in both the UK Asian and UK Punjabi charts. He partnered with Gurinder Gill and Manni Sandhu in June 2020 for the tune “Majhail,” which topped both the UK Asian and Punjabi charts and became their best performance to date. In July 2020, he appeared in “Excuses” by Intense, which climbed at number three on the UK Asian chart and topped the UK Punjabi chart. He released “Brown Munde” with Gurinder Gill, Gminxr, and Shinda Kahlon in September 2020.
Its music video featured Nav, Sidhu Moose Wala, Money Musik, Anmol Dalwani, and Steel Banglez. In Canada, the song debuted on the Apple Music chart. The song debuted at number one on the UK Asian chart, becoming his second top-ten hit. AP Dhillon released his first EP, Not by Chance, in 2020. All seven tracks on the EP charted in New Zealand and reached the top five on the UK’s Official Punjabi Music chart. In 2021, AP Dhillon and his team held their first live concert as part of the “Over The Top – The Takeover Tour” in six major Indian cities. Dhillon collaborates with Boat on brand association. Dhillon became the first Punjabi musician to sing at the 2023 Juno Awards in Edmonton, Canada, with his popular song “Summer High” in 2023.
