Kiara Advani

Alia Advani (born July 31, 1991), often known as Kiara Advani, is an Indian actress who primarily appears in Hindi and Telugu-language productions. In the sports biopic M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, she portrays MS Dhoni’s wife after making her acting debut in the comedy Fugly (2014). (2016). She received attention for her performance as a sexually dissatisfied wife in the Netflix anthology movie Lust Stories (2018) and for her role as the lead actress in the political thriller Bharat Ane Nenu. (2018).

Advani gained more recognition for his roles in Kabir Singh, a romantic drama, and Good Newz, a comedy drama, two of the highest-grossing Hindi movies of 2019. For the latter, she received the IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress. Shershaah, for which she received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 2021, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Jugjugg Jeeyo in 2022 built on this success. Sidharth Malhotra, an actor, is married to Advani.

Early life

Advani was born to Genevieve Jaffrey, a teacher with Scottish, Irish, Portuguese, and Spanish ancestry, and Jagdeep Advani, a Sindhi Hindu merchant whose father was originally from Lucknow. Mishaal, her brother, is a musician. Her maternal family connects her to a number of famous people. Her step-great-grandfather is actor Ashok Kumar, and her great-uncle is actor Saeed Jaffrey.

Advani attended the Cathedral and John Connon School before continuing her education at Jai Hind College, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in public media.

She was originally born Alia Advani, but before the 2014 release of her debut movie, Fugly, she changed her first name to Kiara. Her decision to use that name was motivated by Priyanka Chopra’s portrayal of Kiara in the movie Anjaana. (2010). Alia Bhatt has claimed that Salman Khan suggested she change her name because she was already a well-known actress.

Career

The Hindi ensemble comedy Fugly served as Advani’s debut performance. (2014) According to Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama, Kiara Advani possesses the “combination of looks and talent” and “catch you completely unaware. She is “very striking,” according to Mehul S Thakkar of the Deccan Chronicle, and she “shows a lot of promise.” The box office performance of Fugly was poor.

Two years later, Advani made an appearance in the sports drama M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), a biopic of the former Indian cricket team captain and batsman MS Dhoni. Advani made his Telugu film debut in 2018 alongside Mahesh Babu in the action movie Bharat Ane Nenu from Koratala Siva, which is about a student who unpredictably ascends to the position of Andhra Pradesh’s chief minister. Despite numerous speculations that she has been dating actor Sidharth Malhotra since 2020, Advani has kept her romance private. They were united in marriage on February 7th, 2023 at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, according to Hindu tradition. Their wedding was widely covered by the media, making their wedding photos the most liked Instagram post in India.

Advani participated in the Giordano handbags 2019 campaign as a brand spokesperson. Advani worked with Myntra in 2020.
