Dilin Nair (born 16 November 1988), better known by his stage name Raftaar, is a rapper, poet, dancer, TV personality, and music composer from India who is known for his work in Punjabi and Hindi music.
He began his professional dance career. In 2008, he started his rap career by recording songs and posting them on social media with Lil Golu and Young Amli (who is now known as Ikka). He then joined the Mafia Mundeer group and began working with Yo Yo Honey Singh. Later, Raftaar left the group because of credit-related issues. Ankit Khanna helped him out by introducing him to the Punjabi band RDB, who later signed him to their record label, Three Records. Raftaar joined Manjeet Ral (now known as Manj Musik) shortly after the RDB members split. In 2016, he launched his solo career after signing with Zee Music Company.
At the Brit Asia TV Music Awards, his collaboration with Manj Musik on “Swag Mera Desi” earned him the Best Urban Single trophy. He began presiding over the MTV Hustle, Dance India Dance, and Roadies reality competitions in 2019.
Early and Personal life
Raftaar was born to a Delhi-based Malayali couple in Trivandrum, Kerala. In December 2016, Raftaar wed Kamal Vohra, the sister of Indian television celebrities Karan Vohra and Kunal Vohra. They started living apart in 2020 and filed for divorce. Due to the COVID epidemic, the legal proceedings took longer than expected to conclude, on October 6, 2022.

Raftaar became known after releasing his song “Swag Mera Desi” in 2013 with Manj Musik. the phrase “Ab yeh karke dikhao”The line “Now try to do this”) was a dig at Yo Yo Honey Singh. Yo Yo Honey Singh’s song “Party With The Bhoothnath” had already utilised “Ab yeh karke dikhao,” which sparked a public argument between the two rappers. 2014’s Brit Asia TV Music Awards saw “Swag Mera Desi” take up the Best Urban Song honour.
Raftaar made his debut in the Bengali music scene in 2017 thanks to the movie One, which also starred Vishal Dadlani, a singer. For the Chaamp soundtrack, he also produced and rapped on one song. For the second Breezer Vivid Shuffle, Raftaar and Varun Dhawan worked together.
