Shardul Thakur
Shardul Narendra Thakur (born 16 October 1991) is an Indian international cricketer. He is a right-handed batter and right-arm medium-pace bowler.
Early & Personal life
Thakur finished his early education at Palghar, Mumbai’s Anand Ashram Convent English High School. After passing the metric level exam and receiving a passing grade on the Intermediate level, he was admitted to Swami Vivekanand International School in Palghar, Mumbai. Mittali Parulkar and Thakur became engaged in November 2021. Shardul Thakur wed Mittali Parulkar in February 2023.

Domestic career
Shardul made his first-class debut for Mumbai against Rajasthan in the 2012–13 Ranji Trophy in November of that year in Jaipur. Shardul had a poor start to his career, taking four wickets with an 82.0 bowling average in his first four games. He had five five-wicket hauls and 48 wickets at 20.81 from ten games in the 2014-15 Ranji season.
On February 27, 2014, he made his List A debut for Mumbai in the 2013–14 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He helped Mumbai win its 41st Ranji Trophy championship in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy final by taking eight wickets against Saurashtra.
International career
He was selected for India’s 16-man team for the country’s India’s Test tour of West Indies in 2016, however he did not participate in the match. On February 21, 2018, he played in his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match for India against South Africa. He took a career-high 4-27 in a game against Sri Lanka to turn the tide in India’s advantage, earning him the Man of the Match honour. In the end, he had six wickets from five games, averaging 29.33.
Thakur was selected as one of India’s three reserve players in September 2021 for the T20 World Cup, which would take place in October. For two of the tournament’s games, he was a member of the starting eleven. Shardul Thakur recorded his first five-wicket haul in a Test match at the Wanderers Stadium in January 2022. IPL Career
In advance of the 2015 Indian Premier League season, Thakur was acquired by Kings XI Punjab at the 2014 IPL player auction. He made his IPL debut against Delhi Daredevils, taking one wicket in four overs. He was purchased by Rising Pune Supergiants in March 2017 for the IPL’s tenth season, then in January 2018, Chennai Super Kings purchased him in preparation for the following campaign.
2019 saw Chennai advance to the IPL final; Thakur claimed two wickets but was caught off the game’s final pitch with two runs needed to win. With 21 wickets throughout the season, he led Chennai in wicket-taking in 2021. He was purchased by Delhi Capitals in the 2022 Indian Premier League auction in February of that year. Prior to the IPL auctions for the 2023 season, in November 2022, he was transferred to the Kolkata Knight Riders in exchange for Aman Khan after participating in 14 games during the season.
