Sunil Grover
Sunil Grover (born 3 August 1977) is an Indian actor and comedian from Mumbai who works in Hindi and Punjabi films and television. He first achieved notoriety for his depiction of Gutthi on Comedy Nights with Kapil, but he went on to become well-known for his roles as Dr. Mashhoor Gulati and Rinku Devi on The Kapil Sharma Show. Additionally, he appeared in the Bollywood films Bharat, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, and Gabbar Is Back.

Grover was born on 3 August 1977 in Mandi Dabwali that comes under Sirsa district in Haryana. He graduated with a master’s in theatre from Panjab University Chandigarh.
He is wed to Aarti and has a son named Mohan. In February 2022, Grover suffered a heart attack, and had to undergo four bypass surgeries.

Acting career
The late satirist and comic Jaspal Bhatti first met Grover when he was a college student. Additionally, he appeared in the first 26 episodes of Gutur Gu on SAB TV’s, India’s first silent comedy series. He made his television debut with Chala Lallan Hero Banne on Filmy in the 2000s. He became well recognised for his humorous characters like Gutthi, Rinku Bhabi, and Dr. Mashoor Gulati after appearing on Comedy Nights with Kapil. In the show, he also imitates a number of well-known Bollywood actors, including Amitabh Bachhan, which was mostly well-liked by the audience. However, Sunil left the show after getting into a fight with his co-star Kapil Sharma.
Grover quickly made a comeback to television with Star Plus’s Kanpur Wale Khuranas, which featured Aparshakti Khurana as the host. The show’s storyline was comparable to that of The Kapil Sharma Show, but it was short-lived and quickly took off the air. With Vaisakhi List, Grover made his debut in the Punjabi film industry in 2016, and in the same year, he played Shraddha Kapoor‘s father in Baaghi. In August 2020, he returned to the television profession by appearing in the Star Bharat programme Gangs of Filmistan as Bhindi Bhai. In October 2020, the show came to an end.
Sunil the political drama web series Tandav, which was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and starred Saif Ali Khan, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Kumud Mishra, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Gauahar Khan, Amyra Dastur, Kritika Kamra, Sarah Jane Dias, and Sandhya Mridul, among others, Grover played Gurpal Chauhan in 2021. He lost over 8.1 kilos to play Sonu Singh in the suspense web series Sunflower that same year.
